We’ve heard what you’ve been saying – here are a few select snippets (November 2017)

This Week’s Topic:

How is the NEC nominations process going in your province? Are there ways it can be improved?

Our CR17 social media received a bunch of responses, as can be seen from these excerpts:

“We elected the NEC (CR17) and nominated the additional members. Deployee was paid from the regional office to hijack the process of electing conference delegates in our branch. He didn’t allow us to vote nor take opinions and decided to leave.” – Nokukhanya Poh Mhlongo

“Factionalism and toxic slate list names are deadly poison to our movement. This is what is happening right now.” – Siphenathi Malamba

“They should be done like in the general elections. Nominate or elect at the branch and send the results directly to the national office for consolidation to avoid sales of mandates in the national conference.” – Pava Vince

“BGMs are being rigged, with gate-keeping, heavy private security, and manipulation of processes without recourse. It is the same as if not worse than at BGMs prior to the local government elections of 2016.” – Vincent Sibiya

“Stop the regional and provincial leaders from interfering and bullying branches to nominate people that they like.” – Mangaliso Malatjie “Going well but a few challenges.” – Rachis Norm

“We must seriously consider technology. Human interventions have many flaws. We could use it from membership registering to nominating.” – Mbula Nemadzivhanani

“So far we are on the right track. Let’s keep pushing for success.” – Tefo
